PostHeaderIcon Spencer Cricket Club – A Brief History

The club was formed in 1872 when the local landowner, Earl Spencer, the great grand uncle of late Diana Princess of Wales - permitted the founders to drain and enclose by means of posts and chains, a portion of Wandsworth Common'.

In 1878, the club moved to a site now bounded by Lyford and Ellerton Roads before coming to rest at Fieldview in 1903.
